Our Facilities

We own 400 acres here in Severance. About 27 acres are on the lake where our houses are located and surrounded by recreational areas, woods and fields. The rest of our land is primarily woodland, available for hiking, hunting and exploring. We have a natural sand beach, asphalt tennis court, clay volleyball court, basketball backstop, horseshoe pitch, a large field for baseball games, tether ball, and badminton.
On the waterfront, in addition to our natural sand beach and swim raft, there are docks and a complimentary rowboat. We also have rentals: outboards (6HP with 14 foot boats), canoes, kayaks, and Sunfish sailboats. For those who wish, we also offer the opportunity to row a modern Adirondack guide boat or try out a 15 pound Hornbeck Lost Pond boat. Ask us if you are interested.
Just before you reach the Narrows (gateway to the Upper Lake or East basin of Paradox), we also own six acres on Briar Point. This lovely private spot is inaccessible by road. There are three excellent picnic or camping sites there with rocks to climb on and swim from. The point faces west and makes an ideal place for picnics or that first camping trip for children -- a place to sit and watch the sun set over Blue Ridge and Hoffman Mountain.

Directions
We are really easy to reach. Located 90 miles north of Albany, NY, we are just a mile off Exit 28 of the Adirondack Northway (I-87). At the exit, you take NY State Route 74 East for exactly one mile to River Road.
Turn left onto River Road, and the houses will be located on both sides of the road starting opposite the loon logo at the entrance to our beach. The Red House, where we used to operate a B&B, is on the corner of Route 74 and Sawmill Road, just opposite where you turn onto River Road. If you need help during your stay, call Jess (maintainence/boat rental) at (518) 578-2614 or Kelley (Bills/boat Rental) at (518) 578-8280. WIFI is available at the Redhouse on Sawmill Rd.
