A Family Tradition!
"The older I get the more I look forward to spending the end of the summer at Paradox , especially since my children and grandchildren find it so special too. The timeless beauty of the place is due in large part to your efforts to maintain the rustic beauty and tranquility of the Adirondacks. It took me a good three years to get used to the place back in the mid 70s. I was not used to being so out of touch with the rest of the world, work and the hum drum of the big city. But, that's the whole purpose of vacation and you, and your parents before you, recognized this fact and have maintained the original atmosphere while providing significant upgrades to the facilities. I compliment you on your vision and your family for the wonderful service that you provide." D.C. 9/10/2016
Lake Paradox Club
Lake Paradox Club has been a family business since about 1910. This view of the lake is from our beach and it has not really changed in in over 100 years. We are located on 400 acres of private land at the west end of Paradox Lake in the Adirondack Park, one mile East of Exit 28 of the Northway (Interstate 87) on River Road, just off Route 74. There we offer twelve rental houses, a private beach, docks and recreational facilities.
The majority of our guests have been returning for many years and we now have fourth generation children returning. We try to keep the atmosphere the same but make improvements each year. There is nothing we love more than having new families discover us and make The Lake Paradox Club part of their family tradition.
Most of our houses are quite large - three to five bedrooms. We only have one which is a one bedroom, one bath house. All of them have full electric kitchens, screened porches and fireplaces. Westward, Breezes, and Birches are year-round houses available for rental at any time of year. All the houses are completely furnished except for linens and blankets which are only provided in the winter. Facilities include a private natural sand beach for swimming, amenities such as a complimentary rowboat, baseball field, volleyball court, asphalt tennis court, horseshoe pitch, basketball backstop and other field games. Outboards (14 foot boats with 6hp motors), Sunfish sailboats, kayaks and canoes, are available for rent. Hiking, mountain climbing and camping are possible not only in the neighboring Hammond Pond, Pharaoh Lake or Hoffman Notch Wilderness areas, but in the High Peaks region not far away. There is good fishing in Paradox Lake for bass, pike, pickerel, lake trout and perch. The lake is also stocked with rainbow trout.
We are open all year. Try a family vacation when our off-season rates are in effect. Spring, when the rivers are full, is a good season for canoeing and fishing. In the fall, as the weather cools, hiking is excellent and the color spectacular. Before the lake freezes solid in the winter, there is hunting season and later ice fishing or cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Perhaps this year you would like to hold your family Christmas or Thanksgiving get together here at Lake Paradox Club which has become a tradition for those who return year after year in all seasons to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the lake and the surrounding Adirondacks.
Our family members all hope you will make Lake Paradox Club a tradition in your family, too.
